Running is so much more fun when you have the right gear. Not only do you look and feel your best, when you’re properly equipped, you’re less likely to deal with injuries. Here are some accessories that are worth investing in before you hit the pavement:
1. A good sports bra
This is obviously only a necessity for women, but it’s so important. Choose a high quality sports bra that provides all the support that you need. If you’re uncomfortable, you’re less likely to stick to your routine. Try on sports bras until you find one that’s supportive and avoids chafing.
2. Body glide
This is especially important if you’re planning to run long distances. For example, if you’re training for a marathon. Body glide is a roll-on gel that you apply to parts of the body where chafing can occur like your underarms and inner thighs.
3. A good pair of headphones
If you’re a fan of entertainment while you run then you may want to invest in a good pair of headphones. Choose headphones that stay in place and provide good consistent sound. You can choose bluetooth wireless head phones or ear buds that plug into your smartphone or device to provide music, news, or other entertainment as you run.
4. Hydration gear
No matter the season, staying hydrated is crucial. Choose some good hydration gear like hydration belts, hydration vests, or traditional water bottles.
