1. Eliminate facial redness.
Facial redness can be a result of rosacea, sun or windburn, or dry skin. Choosing products that contain natural ingredients like niacinamide, pine bark extract, aloe and vitamin E can help reduce facial redness. Also make sure you’re wearing a broad spectrum sunscreen even in the winter time.
2. Remove fragrances.
Fragrances found in laundry soap, lotions, and a host of other personal care products can irritate your skin. Choose products that are fragrance-free to avoid any skin irritation.
3. Suck on an ice cube.
Sounds weird, but it’s true. The nerve endings on the roof of your mouth regulate how the blood vessels on your face behave. And an ice cube actually constricts the blood vessels, which in turn reduces facial redness.
4. Conceal blotches.
Use a foundation to conceal blotchy skin. Before applying foundation or concealer to your skin, make sure it’s properly moisturized. Using a foundation brush with cream or liquid foundations can help apply foundation evenly to your skin. Use the back of your hand as a foundation palette and gradually buff it all over your skin in a circular motion. Work from the nose outward.
