5 Beauty Products You Should Consider Refrigerating

It might surprise you that some of your favorite beauty products could benefit from being refrigerated. While some may go rancid, others tend to work more effectively when they’re cooled down. Not sure which ones? Let’s take a closer look.

1. Eye Cream

While your eye cream may not require refrigeration, it may help it do its magic. Similar to the impact of a cold compress, it helps to reduce puffiness. Just remember that cold temperatures constrict and warm temperatures expand.

2. Eyeliner

By cooling down your eyeliner, it creates a more precise line. Want delicate and subtle eye makeup? Consider refrigerating your eyeliner.

3. Moisturizers

This is especially true of moisturizers that are meant to treat skin inflammation like eczema and psoriasis. The cooling factor helps to calm inflammation. Additionally, treat facial redness with creams made with natural ingredients like pine bark extract, aloe, and vitamin E to soothe skin.

4. Masks

Facial masks are a great way to give your skin special attention. They’re also soothing and relaxing. Refrigerating facial masks can make them even more effective and some homemade masks that don’t contain preservatives, will need to be refrigerated anyway.

5. Oils

Both olive oil and coconut oil are great natural beauty products. Olive oil is great for deep hair conditioning treatments but if olive oil is placed in direct sunlight, it’s sure to go rancid. Protect it in the refrigerator. Coconut oil is great for removing eye makeup and it’s an effective moisturizer. Once refrigerated, it has the consistency of butter, so it’s easier to apply.

For the best results, you’ll want to keep these beauty products chilled. Especially if you want them to last a long while.
