My grandmother died at age 92 and with barely a wrinkle on her face. It’s partially genetic but she also knew how to take care of her skin. Some advice is good enough to last through the ages and it’s worth taking note. Daily Makeover recently listed some of grandma’s best advice for looking young as you age.
1. Always wash your face.
Make sure that you never go to bed without washing your face to remove dirt, debris, and eye makeup. Even if you’re tired and getting under the covers is all too appealing, take five extra minutes to care for your skin. Makeup can take a toll on your skin if it’s allowed to seep into your pores.
2. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
After you wash your face at night make sure it’s properly moisturized. This is especially true at night when your skin tends to lose moisture. Never put makeup on top of dry skin because it seeps into wrinkles. And in the winter time, purchase a heavier moisturizer to carry you through this extra dry season.
3. Stay out of the sun.
Try to stay out of the sun. When you’re in the sun, wear a broad spectrum SPF that is at least 30 or higher and cover up. The more sun you get, the more wrinkles, it’s that simple. If you have age or sun related dark spots, try Zax’s Original Darkspot Cream.
Don’t under estimate the importance of taking great care of your skin as you age. Take steps to nourish and protect your skin and you’ll look that much younger.
