Summer can deplete your skin of moisture. I’ve written before that in the summer time hydration is so important. The sun coupled with the hot weather drains your skin of moisture. Not to mention that dehydrated skin is more likely to show fine lines and wrinkles. As a result, drinking ample amounts of water is really important. Try and drink 8-10 glasses per day. Avoiding excessive caffeine and alcohol, which deplete your skin of water, is also key to keeping your skin supple.
Additionally, a homemade summer hydration mask applied once per week is also a great way to combat the effects of summer dehydration. This combination of avocado, coconut oil, and honey not only adds moisture to your skin, the texture locks in hydration. Avocados are loaded with nutrients including super skin-friendly varieties like 17 percent your RDA of vitamin C and 10 percent your RDA of vitamin E. Vitamin C helps your skin to be more resilient against UV rays and pollutants. Coconut oil is also an excellent moisturizer that like avocado, is loaded with healthy fats that are beneficial to your skin. And honey is also extremely moisturizing while at the same time, it’s loaded with antioxidants that reduce aging. Try this simple yet effective facial mask.
