How to Cover Under Eye Circles and Dark Spots With Makeup

Your eyes can be one of the first places to show your age. If you’re not sleeping, dark under eye circles can be another giveaway. Dark spots on your skin can show sun damage and aging as well. But luckily, with a few makeup tricks all of this can be easily concealed.

How to Hide Dark Under Eye Circles

-Gently apply a dark circle prevention cream. A dark circle eye cream (like Zax’s Original) under your eyes will help to prevent dark circles and reduce puffiness. The warmth of your finger sets the cream into your skin so that it doesn’t sit on top of the skin. Use a concealer or foundation on top. -Use a light cream concealer. Use a cream concealer that won’t crack or seep into the fine lines under your eyes. You may want to use a yellower concealer that’s great for covering blue and purple hues. Or if you’re not wearing a foundation, use a concealer the same shade as your skin. Apply a few drops to your finger and then apply directly to the dark circle, blending with your finger tip. -Substitute foundation for concealer. If you’re a minimalist and you don’t have concealer, you can use foundation as a concealer. Squeeze a few drops of foundation onto your finger. Let it oxidize for a few minutes by letting it be exposed to the air so that it becomes a touch denser. Then apply it to your eyes as you would concealer.

How to Hide Dark Spots

-Apply a dark spot cream. Use a dark spot cream that’s made with natural ingredients (like Zax’s Original). While it doesn't actually cover up spots, it lightens and brightens them. Again, you can correct dark spots permanently at the same time as you’re covering them up. -Color correct red and brown spots. Use a water-based concealer that sits nicely on your skin to color correct dark spots. Don’t use it all over your skin, just on the areas where there are spots. -Evenly apply foundation. Evenly apply foundation to your skin to blend in the color corrected brown spots. If you have oily skin you may want to add a powder base all over as well. Just a little makeup can cover up both dark circles and dark spots on your skin and make your skin look even toned and vibrant. Sara Novak is a Natural Health Care Expert for Zax Health.
